Angel Beats! (Again?! Yup. Once is not enough!)

Angel Beats- Otonashi, Yuri-pe and Kanade

When I first heard about Angel Beats, I was told that the main protagonist, Yuri-pe, looked like Haruhi Suzumiya from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. True enough, she does. That’s what really attracted me to this anime. I have no idea about the story or what-so-ever and I really thought it’ll be a rip off of MHS, I was just hoping it would be a good one. So, I downloaded all the episodes.

The first episode isn’t really that good. It was like, nonsense for me really. It’s basically about a group of bitter teenagers blaming God for their misfortunes and rebelling because they can’t move on. It’s original but really crap. Then, I decided today to keep watching it. And I must say, I was fucking wrong.

Angel Beats isn’t anything like MHS. Yeah, it’s about a guy who basically lets himself be ordered around by an eccentric girl leader, but it’s not really focused on that. It’s about rebelling and fighting to not disappear because they have a deeper purpose, a lingering regret. The characters are given depth and made realistic by the following episodes. They aren’t just brats who are bitter and the story isn’t crap. It’s sad, painful and inspring. There’s friendship, hope and courage. Though it’s not delivered in a serious way, it’s there; together with humour and action that you’ll definitely love.

It’s a great anime. I’ll definitely crossing my fingers for a second season. Those who can share some news, link them.

P.S. I don’t do new anime reviews, I occasionally do if I started watching it. I’m usually too lazy to download and keep up with anime so… just recommend some.

Angel Beats Information:

The Story of Sable Prince *Spoiler ALert*

To tell you the truth, the ending was horrible. Maybe I’m just in a bad mood. Maybe I’m just pissed off right now. But that doesn’t mater. That slimy, good for nothing traitor was made a DUKE by the Prince?! Oh My God. I’d rather die. I don’t get why he would still trust that freaking guy. I’m so pissed off that if I bought the manga, it’d be ripped to pieces by now.

guess what?? guess what?? koisuru boukun is going to be an ANIME!!! OMFG!

Whew. Typing Koisuru Boukun took me a lot longer than I expected… maybe next time I should just type Tyrant Who Fall in Love? The Jap is really long…

Anyway, there’s already a trailer out in You Tube and I bet all the fan girls are screaming at the top of their lungs! Who’s not excited?? KB is possibly the best ever BL manga that’s still publishing~ and I prefer it that way- publishing. I don’t mind waiting for a long time or checking Nihonomaru almost everyday, every second… coz at least I still have something to wait for right?

But, this, THIS is even better! Seeing them actually moving?? HEAVEN!

So, what are you waiting for? Freakin’ click the links already! You shouldn’t even be reading this part! Click it!

0zero9days: Arakawa Under the Bridge (Anime)

Well, maybe there’s one thing. Maybe you could… love me.
Anime Title: 荒川アンダー ザ ブリッジ

It all begins when Kou almost drowns in a river but is saved by Nino. For saving his life, Kou fulfills Nino’s desire to have a boyfriend. Thus, Kou becomes her boyfriend, but has to live with her under the bridge… (via MAL)

I seriously thought this is drama. So, I was quite disappointed when I read that it’s comedy. After I watched it though, it was actually really funny and entertaining. I know weirdness isn’t new in the Anime world but the type of weirdness here isn’t something you can get tired of easily. It’s a really good anime. But I think it’s too fast…

As for the characters… I love the weird girl. She’s pretty and she’s really weird. Haha. And the guy with all his super exaggerated expressions is really funny.

Over all the whole anime is funny. It’s a good start. Definitely watching it until the end! Update this after the 5th ep.

0zero8days: Angel Beats! (Anime)

Welcome to the “Like-hell-I’m-dead Battlefront”!

Anime Title: エンジェルビーツ

Status: Airing
Synopsis: In a world after death, angels fight for their fate and their future. Yuri, the leader of the Shinda Sekai Sensen, rebels against the god who destined her to have an unreasonable life. On the otherhand, Tenshi, the chairperson of the student council for the world after death, battles against the SSS members. SSS members utilize armed weaponry to battle it out against the angels harnessing supernatural powers. (via Anime News Network)

I saw a trailer in a site called Metanorn and it looked really cool. So anyway, I decided to download it after I saw the review. At first, it didn’t look anything new. The story IS original and that’s a plus point. But, it was nonsense at first really. Stealing lunch meal tickets? By singing in the stage?! But yeah, there’s a lot of nonsense but it’s unpredictable and really interesting.

I think I was talking, *ahem* typing, in circles but what I want to say is, I’m definitely watching it again. The characters are pretty cliche but I think there’s more to them. Yuki is really like Haruhi from MHZ. Her hair, her face and even her actions! They’re like twins or something. Not a minus point though. And as for Angel, she’s very very interesting. I wonder what the twist will be?

I’ll update this after I watch the 5th ep.

0zero7days: Nightmare of the Funeral March (Manga)

Nightmare of the Funeral March

Good day. Welcome to Aries. This shop sells antiques and knickknacks. It seems you’ve found what you’re looking for…

Manga Title: Nightmare of the Funeral March / Sousoukyoku Naitomea/ 葬送曲ナイトメア
Manga-ka: Aki Arata (Art and Story)
Status: Completed (Not completely scanlated) Two Vol.
Synopsis: The owner of Aries, a strange antique shop, is Baku, a mysterious boy. The costs for the mysterious items there are the guests’ nightmares. This is a story of Aries, a shop where only people drown in their dreams can enter… (via Aerandria Scans)

What attracted me is the title. Kinda like the movie “Death in a Funeral,” I haven’t watched it but the title is really attention grabbing. Hmm…. so basically it’s about this mysterious kid who’s a conductor of a colony (or whatever you call it) of an insect (of what, I have no idea) and something happened to him that caused him to have 3 or 4(?) other persona. The chapters features different people and by more than 5 chapters, the story had developed quite nicely. This manga has a really good art and an addictive story.

Scarlet Carnival is also scanlating this one and there’s no new updates yet. I’ll be updating this post after I get updates.

So far, it’s been great and it receives  1/2.

0zero6days: Are you Alice? (Manga)

Are you Alice?

If you give me a permanent reason to exist then I’ll be Alice… If that’s no good, then I’ll blow my brains out right now.
Manga Title: Are you Alice? / 汝名艾丽斯
Manga-ka: Katagiri Ikumi (Art) / Ninomiya Ai (Story)
Status: Publishing from 2009
Synopsis: After throwing away his dreams a boy wanders into “Wonderland” and he holds the name of “Alice” which is the primary requirement in the “Game to kill the White Rabbit”. In a crazy story where common sense does not apply and everything is bound by the rules of the game and the orders of the Queen of Hearts, Alice decides to take the gun in his hand. (via mangaupdates)

Hmm… so review. So far I only read three chapters. Not that it isn’t good. It’s just that I don’t have access to it except by internet and well, no updates yet.

So, I never really knew the real story of Alice in Wonderland. I vaguely knew about Alice being in Wonderland, meeting the weird cat, being in a tea party with the Mad Hatter and meeting the Queen of hearts and her cards… and that’s it. I also knew she shrank, by the way. Having said all that, comparing this manga to the real story is not really possible to do.

But reading the manga, I’m really really excited and curious about the characters and the development of the story. It seems like the Queen and his loyal servant, the Mad Hatter can’t really be trusted… and the new Alice seems to be a psycho who killed a lot… and he’s emo too. Seriously. But anyway, the story’s development is quite interesting. With the flow of the story a few more chapters and a minimum of 2-3 volumes will be enough and just right. Well, I might be wrong if there’s more twist.

Oh, for the art, well, it’s just gorgeous! I love it and I’m planning on reading one of the artist’s work: Zanbara!

As for now, this manga has the rating of   out of 5. The art and the story are just amazing and I’ll be sure to look out for updates!
Oh, I forgot! Here’s the link to Scarlet Carnival for updates and download links!
