Review When I was in the Philippines, I watched one episode of Love Hina. The part where Haruka started singing and all the girls sang as they were reflecting on the situation they are in. The song became the ending song. That’s why I watched Love Hina. Coming here to New Zealand, I was able to get access of the manga.
Honestly, I almost gave up when I first read it. It’s so perverted and it’s like the only thing that Ken Akamatsu wants to do is draw naked women. But as I went on reading, I found out that it’s actually a good manga with very interesting story though its structure is very common: a guy who’s the love interest of all the girls around him. What’s interesting are the characters way of showing their “love” and the unlikeable attitude the guy has (he’s a pervert!) that doesn’t hinder the girls’ love. The characters are all unique and their stories were developed. They have their own problems which they were able to overcome during the whole series. Ken Akamatsu didn’t just draw perverted scenes, I guess. But though I like the story, Ken’s ‘sense of humor’ is irritating. For comedic relief he would use perverted scenes. Funny.. yes. But most of the time, Keitaro had been beaten up really badly when it’s so obvious he didn’t mean to do it. The flow of events leading to the scene are also often unbelievable and realistic. Having said that, I understand that this manga is a fiction and for entertainment… but still, I just find it irritating.
His drawings are all good and consistent. Though sometimes, some characters look a like. And of course, there’s the ecchi scenes that I wish he would not draw often. Aside from that, I like his drawings.
This manga deserves a 8/10. You should definitely read it. The ending is really good. The info about the manga is from MyAnimeList.net
