Kyouichi’s indecisive character has led him to repeatedly commit the foolish mistake of adultery. One day, Imagase, a college classmate he hasn’t seen since graduation, shows up as the private detective hired by his wife to investigate his infidelity. Imagase, however, proposes a deal. He won’t tell Kyouichi’s wife about his affairs, but, for compensation, he makes an unbelievable demand: “I want your body in exchange…”
What will I do now?
In many ways, Kyuuso is not so different from other yaoi. A married heterosexual, a ‘kouhai’ turned stalker-ish detective, a meeting after many years, the ‘coincidental’ meetings, the blackmail… all this aren’t that new. I mean, 1 out 0f 8 manga I’ve read has the same things.
But it’s still worth your time.
The story is about finding true love… without even knowing what it really is. The main protagonist of the story, a heterosexual, has always been popular with girls- married or not. And even when he’s already married that doesn’t stop him from going out with other woman. But who could blame him, though? Things that happened in our life help shape who we are. Then, there’s this detective who’s madly in love with his senpai from before. They met each other years later and he fell in love with him even more. This senpai is the heterosexual protagonist. Throughout the story, The kouhai kept black mailing his senpai just to be with him.
What I like most about this, are the undying love the kouhai has for his senpai and the fact that the senpai like girls and he’s never been in love.
I don’t particularly like the art. I think it’s ugly actually. Not very ugly… just that, it’s different from the usual bishie style of drawing for boys love.
I love both the characters. I especially feel attached to the kouhai. The senpai is a jerk.
Scores: As for the story, 8.5/10. Art 7/10. Characters 8/10. OVER ALL 8/10
Will you love like that?
I don’t believe in love. I wonder if in the future, I could love like that.
