Tsk. Here I thought I found gold when I saw this manga. It’s great that there’s another Blood Franchise but the main character is too contradictory and the story is too fragmented. It doesn’t flow smoothly, like it’s different incidents forced to be one anime. There’s also this structure: cafe, filler story with her friends, talk with papa, kill monsters (not chiroptera but freaky evangelion like monsters). And like said, I don’t like the protagonist, she’s clumsy yet super good at killing things, she’s a goody two shoes who helps and does good stuff that makes her late but when a person was gonna be devoured by the monster (and while it’s happening) she was just standing there waiting for it to be finished. The other characters are also cliched and shallow. Ugh. But I’ll watch it until the bitter end because I was told it will eventually get better. EVENTUALLY.
To be honest, I wasn’t really excited with this series. It’s obviously smut and I don’t think I can actually read it. But one day, after I got home from the manga sale, I just sad down on my sister’s bed and took all the volumes we had and looked through it. It was pretty good actually. Enjoyable is the right word, I think.
The story isn’t actually original. The main story is basically about a twisted guy turned hot vocalist who fell in love with ordinary girl and blah blah blah. As for the side stories, well, they’re really quite simple to be not original. The development of the characters is so-so. No one stood out or showed potential for something great. They’re all okay but not great.
Saying all that, it’s still quite enjoyable. The plot isn’t really overused and who wouldn’t want a manga about four hotties?! Right? So, anyway, if you aren’t looking for something inspiring or just incredibly great, don’t miss out on this one. I mean, even with all the smut scenes, I still read all of it (from vol 4-18) in one sitting for 2-3 hours.
Check it out! :]
To tell you the truth, the ending was horrible. Maybe I’m just in a bad mood. Maybe I’m just pissed off right now. But that doesn’t mater. That slimy, good for nothing traitor was made a DUKE by the Prince?! Oh My God. I’d rather die. I don’t get why he would still trust that freaking guy. I’m so pissed off that if I bought the manga, it’d be ripped to pieces by now.
Manga Title: Nightmare of the Funeral March / Sousoukyoku Naitomea/ 葬送曲ナイトメア Manga-ka: Aki Arata (Art and Story) Status: Completed (Not completely scanlated) Two Vol. Synopsis: The owner of Aries, a strange antique shop, is Baku, a mysterious boy. The costs for the mysterious items there are the guests’ nightmares. This is a story of Aries, a shop where only people drown in their dreams can enter… (via Aerandria Scans)
Good day. Welcome to Aries. This shop sells antiques and knickknacks. It seems you’ve found what you’re looking for…
What attracted me is the title. Kinda like the movie “Death in a Funeral,” I haven’t watched it but the title is really attention grabbing. Hmm…. so basically it’s about this mysterious kid who’s a conductor of a colony (or whatever you call it) of an insect (of what, I have no idea) and something happened to him that caused him to have 3 or 4(?) other persona. The chapters features different people and by more than 5 chapters, the story had developed quite nicely. This manga has a really good art and an addictive story.
Scarlet Carnival is also scanlating this one and there’s no new updates yet. I’ll be updating this post after I get updates.
So far, it’s been great and it receives 1/2.
If you give me a permanent reason to exist then I’ll be Alice… If that’s no good, then I’ll blow my brains out right now.Manga Title: Are you Alice? / 汝名艾丽斯 Manga-ka: Katagiri Ikumi (Art) / Ninomiya Ai (Story) Status: Publishing from 2009 Synopsis: After throwing away his dreams a boy wanders into “Wonderland” and he holds the name of “Alice” which is the primary requirement in the “Game to kill the White Rabbit”. In a crazy story where common sense does not apply and everything is bound by the rules of the game and the orders of the Queen of Hearts, Alice decides to take the gun in his hand. Hmm… so review. So far I only read three chapters. Not that it isn’t good. It’s just that I don’t have access to it except by internet and well, no updates yet.
So, I never really knew the real story of Alice in Wonderland. I vaguely knew about Alice being in Wonderland, meeting the weird cat, being in a tea party with the Mad Hatter and meeting the Queen of hearts and her cards… and that’s it. I also knew she shrank, by the way. Having said all that, comparing this manga to the real story is not really possible to do.
But reading the manga, I’m really really excited and curious about the characters and the development of the story. It seems like the Queen and his loyal servant, the Mad Hatter can’t really be trusted… and the new Alice seems to be a psycho who killed a lot… and he’s emo too. Seriously. But anyway, the story’s development is quite interesting. With the flow of the story a few more chapters and a minimum of 2-3 volumes will be enough and just right. Well, I might be wrong if there’s more twist.
Oh, for the art, well, it’s just gorgeous! I love it and I’m planning on reading one of the artist’s work: Zanbara!
As for now, this manga has the rating of out of 5. The art and the story are just amazing and I’ll be sure to look out for updates! Oh, I forgot! Here’s the link to Scarlet Carnival for updates and download links!
Good art, interesting story with a very unpredictable twist. I love this manga. I wish I could just buy it instead of having to download it and wait for updates.
This manga was recommended by a trusted friend so I decided to try it out. At first I wasn’t all that interested. I mean, a historical manga! Who’d want to read that? But yeah, anyway, it was actually good. I love the story and the art is actually appealing. It has a plot and not like some manga with lots of h things.
So yeah, read it. It’s worth your time and it’s really good.
