Death Note Live Action: Hollywood Style

I decided to see if there’s any news about the apparent live action by Hollywood and here’s what  got:

In April 2009, it was announced that WB had acquired the rights to make a live-action version of the manga, and had hired Charley and Vlas Parlapanides to adapt the script. The new film will be based upon the original manga series rather than the existing live-action films.

It’s also in Anime News Network.

I know it’s too late to post this since it’s been 4 months but if there’s people out there like me who don’t know, well, at least there’s another site that will help them know!

It’s been more than a year since I last saw this film, but it’s still fresh from my memory. I can still remember what happened… But sadly, I couldn’t give a good review because I didn’t pay attention to anything else other than Light’s and L’s scenes.

I just watched it again just now. This time, I can give a better review.

Story wise, I think this is better than the manga or the anime. I prefer the war to be between Kira and L. I hated it when Mello and Near where suddenly in it. I just think that since they started it, they should finish it- and that’s what this film did! Kira died in front of L and even so, L still lost in a way. Aside from the clever and cunning steps Kira and L takes to stop each other, the lines : I too will be happy if you’re not Kira” and such, still makes my heart beat faster. I love how they care about each other and even though they are enemies, there’s still a connection other than that. This is what makes this story-anime, manga, live action all included- not just any typical justice boys story.

The actors, especially Kira’s and L’s, were definitely the best choice to act the parts. Of course Misa is also good, but she lacks acting skills. As for the others, well they don’t really matter for me but when I notice them, they look right, not weird.

Over all even though it’s not that long, the film deserves a 8.5/10 and if ever I said that it deserves less, sue me. As for the first movie, I am confident that I gave it a 9.

I love you Kira and L. See you soon.

What Death Note Character are You?!

I took two quizzes that asks “What Death Note Character are You? And I got these results! Both Light! Yay!! I know I’m being a little childish, but I am a child! And even though it’s all probably fake or something, it’s fun and exciting! It really feels good if you turned out to be the character you like the most!
