This 2 night special takes off during their graduation, where Chiaki-senpai & Nodame left for Europe. The first special centered on Chiaki’s story, the story tells about Chiaki’s dream to be a conductor. Nodame on the other hand attended the conservatory to attain her dream to one-day play the piano for Chiaki. After her hard work, Nodame was given a chance to have a mini recital. During the recital, Chiaki saw her worth and realized that he cannot go on with out her.
Review:

As of now, the only episode I was able to watched was the first one. My internet is getting slower and slower. Anyway, my internet connection is another story and I should start now, while it’s still fresh in my mind.

Nodame Cantabile’s STORY. The first part is about Chiaki. It shows his struggle through a contest called I don’t know. It’s about him entering a contest and winning it. But of course, he didn’t win easily. He wavered when he heard a certain French guy’s conducting. FYI: That guy’s name is Jean. Well, I mean the opera that guy is conducting. Since you can’t hear conducting…
Anyway, yeah, the story is good. Not that great but just okay. The pacing is kinda fast but is understandable since it’s a 2 episodes drama. It’s funny but I find the series funnier but this one is still, again I don’t know the term, but we call it nakakakilig. I mean, it makes you excited and makes you scream.

Score: Okay, Chiaki’s story showed that he’s not always cool, calm and collected. Besides from airplanes, other things can also bother him. He can also get nervous and intimidated by others. Also, it showed his respect and love for his Sensei, V Sensei. So, as far as his story goes, I’ll give it a 8/10

CHARACTERS . There were at least 5 new characters. When they arrived at the place they are staying at, they met two students. Frank (Wentz Eiji) and a Russian girl named Tanya. Frank is an otaku who’s obsessed with Japan and Tanya is on the hunt for a boyfriend. They had their eyes on both Nodame and Chiaki but later saw them only as friends. Then, in the competition that Chiaki is a apart of, there were two contestants that were shown. Of course they weren’t the only contestants but they were the main ones. Get it? The first one is French, Jean Donnadieu who won a Conducting Competition in Belgium. The other is Katahira Hajime who entered the competition thrice or four times only to fail. Now, he’s trying again. Oh! There’s also the French guy’s girl friend who’s like he’s goddess of luck or something.
So, with the new characters, there’s little character development. But as I said over and over this is understandable. Besides the new characters made it more lively and it’s always interesting to find new characters to like and dislike. Anyway, the characters are okay. Not the best but just fine. I didn’t find anyone annoying so that’s great. Score: 8/10

EFFECTS AND THE MOVIE ITSELF . I prefer the series. Because the exaggeration there is annoying but at the same time funny and it catches your attention. But here, in this special, it’s kinda serious. It’s still funny, yeah, but not always.  Kinda like it’s showing the serious sides of the characters. Don’t get me wrong. that’s actually great. But the comedy factor is being threatened to disappear. Good thing I’d only watched the first episode and this could change. I sure hope it would. Aside from that, the music is great! I love their soundtrack. Not much to see on effects since it’s a slice of life. Anyway, score: 7/10
OVER ALL: 7/10
